‘Bailed out the team’ – Spurs player gets yet more positive reviews out on loan

Joe Rodon is excelling in the Championship with Leeds United this season, and his latest two displays have earned him praise from the local press, as he helped the Yorkshire side take further steps towards a return to the Premier League.

A near-ever-present for the Whites this season, Rodon has been the lynchpin of Daniel Farke’s defence and is at the heart of Leeds United‘s promotion push.

With his Spurs career a non-starter over the years, it seems Rodon is set to move on this summer. It has been heavily suggested that the Welshman would be keen to make his stay at Leeds a permanent one, but only if the club can gain promotion back to the Premier League (Football Insider).

It is thought Tottenham have told the player he can leave this summer, too (HITC).

Joe Rodon is in great form for Leeds United

Leeds will no doubt be eager to snap up Rodon on a permanent basis, too, especially given his recent performances for the club in the last two games.

In the win over Hull City on Monday, Leeds Live gave Rodon a rating of 8 out of 10, and said: “A solid evening for Rodon, even though he was dealt the tricky hand of following Hull’s false nine for the evening. Seemed to stay out of any issues with passing elsewhere along the backline.”

And, in the draw against Watford, Rodon was complimented with a 7 out of 10, despite having a tougher time: “Hardly vintage Rodon, but didn’t put too many feet wrong, even with the threat Watford posed. Bailed out the team with one or two last-ditch interventions too.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I’m very happy that Rodon is having a good season with Leeds, and I hope he gets the promotion his form has deserved. We won’t see him in a Spurs shirt again, but I would imagine we will see him in the Premier League next year.
