Bale hugely disappointed despite hat trick

Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale admitted he was disappointed with Totteenham’s 4-3 defeat to Inter Milan despite scoring a hat-trick.

Bale was Tottenham’s stand-out player and gave Maicon a torrid time – helping himself to a second half hat-trick and helping restore some pride to Spurs after finding ourselves 4-0 down within 35 minutes.

“It’s hugely disappointing. We all knew we could do better in the first half. We started off sloppy and we paid the price,” Bale told ITV1.

“But I think with 10 men we showed what a good team we are, and if we’d had 11 men on the field it could have been a different game.

“It just wasn’t a lively start and we paid for it. I think next time we’ll learn from this mistake and hope not to have a start like that ever again.”

Bale added: “I just had the ball and put it in the back of the net. There wasn’t too much to think about.

“I was more thinking about getting back into the game, and we did that. But time ran out on us.”

“We had a lot of positives come out of the second half. We kept the ball well with only 10 men, and hopefully at White Hart Lane we can do a better job and get a victory,” he said.

“The result is what matters and it’s massively disappointing. We want to put that right next time.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Two things came out of this game one was how shallow football has become the dust had not settled on Bales Ha-trick and commentators where selling Bale to every club going . Tottenham are building a new world class training complex a World class Stadium we have Fans world wide and increasing by the year yet we cant keep a lad aged 21 because the media all want him to leave for a bigger club Spurs History his littered with first and we need to be strong and show the Football media we are thinking big talking big and building a team to go with our new stadium and training complex. Huddlestone 23 Lennon 22 Bale 21 Walker 21 Townsend 19 Caulker 18 are our future to sell them would stop more fans world wide joining the Spurs dream just like i did 48 years ago aged ten watching spurs win the cup winners Cup with the double winning stars of the time . I live 400 miles from Tottenham and on my doorstep was Liverpool Man Utd yet my heart was stolen by a Super Team . This is why its important to keep your young stars who can attract more fans and then just like UTD become a top World team Then we wont suffer the humiliation of commentators embarrassing Harry by asking him are you selling Bale

  2. I can not understand why he keeps picking Jenas in front of Palacios and Kranjcar, both are far better than Jenas will be in that position, and he got found out last night just how poor he is, if we are to move forward both Jenas and Assou-Ekotto just dont make the grade, along with Bassong……..

  3. I don't know why some people keep picking on Jenas. He has had a string of good games for Spurs. He, Bale and Lennon were the only players keeping Spurs alive last nite. Huds was no where. Our defence was horrible. Strikers were hopeless. Crouch can't even put in a simple header, whats the use of all that height.
So quit picking on Jenas. He deserves to be in the team and i think he being in the starting 11 is justified.

  4. Agree with SpursM totally. I'm now worried about the tired legs of the 9 (except YKW) who just played a tough one 2 days ago when we face Everton Sat. Sandro,Kranjcar,PAV & YKW must start.

  5. I was at San Siro and Bale's performance put him in the best player in the world class. Last night on Italian Tv Real are supposed to want him plus inter and milan. his runs were timed and hes as fast as that prick boult but only difference is hes ten times faster cos bale did it over 20 times during the match, this was according to italian tv monitoring on rai 1.To have been in the stadium that night was an honour , bale made everyone sit up.Stop worrying bout Huddlestone by the way, hes a sublime player at times but you dont win titles with him, too slow. jENAS WAS THE BIZZ AS WELL. Tottenham produced 67 passes in this game without Inter touching the ball, this was at one point in the Second half. Don't bother going San Siro if you aint near the action, it holds 80,000 but only 34,000 can really see. I paid 55 pound at an Italian bank for mine and I needed binocs. The prices for food are rubbish and everything is fucked up as regards getting around . No prog except in the Red VIP area and on top of all that I had a Skinhead in front of me who kept shouting out "AL" and then "chris"
