Bale is a match-winner

Gareth Bale

Welsh caretaker manager Brian Flynn believes that Gareth Bale can expect to be tightly marked by Switzerland this evening.

The left-sided Tottenham Hotspur player has been in superb form for Harry Redknapp’s side since coming back into favour in January.

Flynn said: “The Bulgarians doubled up on him; special treatment, he has to work it out.

“He has to be clever, he can’t rely on pace to get him out of a situation. The tag of being a match-winner he carries on his shoulders. He is regarded like that by Tottenham now.

“It is a big responsibility but he is capable of carrying that.

“I told him at 15 he was extra-special and I think he will get even better as well.”

  1. Brian Flynn Should consider playing Bale at centre forward for one very good reason bale beat his man quite a few times but his crosses went unpunished. Playing Bale centre forward would give him more room to break the last line of defence and score himself he has scored some goals for Spurs from the centre of the field and at 6ft2 i believe he could play there and excel .
