Bale: I signed new deal to win title with Spurs

Gareth Bale has signed a new contract at Tottenham until 2015.

The Spurs winger’s new deal is rumoured to be worth around £70,000 a week.

Bale told Tottenham’s website: “I am enjoying my football at Tottenham. I want us to keep going forward as a team and hopefully we can achieve big things.

“I definitely believe we can challenge for a title very soon. That is why I have signed. Every year as a minimum we are aiming to qualify for the Champions League so we are definitely going in the right direction.

“We have got a great squad that is still young and we are going places. It is great to commit to this club and hopefully we can achieve what we believe we can with this squad. The players want what the fans want, and performing in front of these fans is a special experience.

“We have proven in the Champions League this season that we can compete with the best and we are in the last eight now and there is no reason we can’t go further this season and in years to come.”

  1. for us to win the title with need tighten up are defence and we need two quality strikers and get rid off defoe, i rather pavy starting up front.

are midfield is fantastic i don’t think we need anyone there but hopefully lennon can get his crosses better.

get rid off king and woodgate, gallas so far im happy with, i do like benoit i would prefer another left who can attack like fabio contracao from benfica.

  2. Judas are you listening? That is commitment. Unlike you glory hunting turncoat yellow skunk. Sorry guys on here, I know it’s been an done a long time now but I rate a man by his word and Sols word stands for nothing in my book. The losing him on the free pained but ok can get over that. The moving to Arsenal, ill advised but that’s football. The betrayal of the fans and the manner in which it was done?! Reprehensible. Jesus was betrayed with a kiss and what Sol did was just wrong. If he had just said from the off he wanted to try his luck somewhere else I don’t think many would’ve wronged him for that. Gareth Bale you have earned my respect sir. Lillywhitetilidie.

  3. @Dixta: Yes I would. If the club were to entertain a bid of $50 million (remember it’s up to the club to accept a bid before the player even gets to decide his position) why would they have him sign for more money now? It’s doesn’t make sense. I think he’s safely planted at Spurs for at least 2 more years.

  4. good lad gareth.now lets get 4th and get some quality strikers who know were the goal is.we`ll never move to the next level with defoe, just like keane he`s not good enough and needs moving on
