Ballon d’Or winner congratulates Spurs on reaching Champions League final

Tottenham overcame Ajax in dramatic circumstances yesterday evening to reach the Champions League final, courtesy of a second-half hattrick from Lucas Moura.

Spurs looked down and out at half time as the hosts led 3-0 on aggregate but Pochettino’s men showed some unbelievable spirit in the second half as they kept fighting till the final whistle.

It looked like Tottenham had missed their big chance when Jan Vertongen failed to convert from close range towards the end, but Lucas Moura popped up with a goal in the final minute of stoppage time to send Spurs fans into delirium.

Former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric certainly knows a thing or two about the Champions League having won the trophy four times with Real Madrid.

The 33-year-old, who left North London for the Spanish capital in 2012, took to social media to congratulate his former side on making it to the final.
