Well that didn’t last very long, did it Piers?
The famously well-hated presenter and journalist Piers Morgan lapped up his chance to mock Tottenham at the weekend after they lost the North London derby to his beloved Arsenal.
Morgan was only too quick to claim that North London was red, and that Tottenham have never been better than the Gunners.
It seems that Arsenal fans are desperate at the moment to prove they are better that Spurs, while Tottenham are determined to look above them in the table and challenge as best they can.
Perhaps the mentality between the two clubs has swapped to a certain degree, as Arsenal fans seem a little obsessed with trumping Tottenham, as if it earns them a trophy.
Piers Morgan included the delightful line, ‘Look at where their season is going, they’re fifth now’, in his interview with talkSPORT after the NLD.
That comment simply could not have aged any better, as Arsenal drew 2-2 to Man United and Chelsea dropped points in a 2-1 loss to Wolves last night.
Meanwhile Spurs picked up all three points in a 3-1 win against Southampton, sending them back up to third, and yep, you guessed it, Arsenal down to fifth.
Now is the time for Poch and his players to concentrate on winning trophies, rather than obsessing over a team who have finished below them for the last two years.
