Barca star ruled out of Tottenham clash

Tottenham face perhaps their most important fixture of this season so far next week in the Champions League.

Despite only taking a point from their opening three games in their tough group, Spurs have given themselves a fighting chance heading into game week six.

Tottenham won both their home ties against PSV and Inter Milan over the past month to essentially start their knock out journey earlier.

Only a win will do against Barcelona, if Inter Milan beat PSV of course, and Spurs will be desperate to see some Champions League football in the new stadium come the new year.

Pochettino will be hoping that Barcelona field a weakened team against his side next week, as the Spanish giants have already qualified top of the group.

Luis Suarez was named as a doubt for the clash after sustaining an injury in November (SkySports), and now recent signing Malcom has also been ruled out (teamtalk).

The forward has a sprained ankle and will be out for around two weeks.
