Barcelona boss Xavi praises Tottenham star for his World Cup display

Xavi Hernandez has picked out Richarlison as the best finisher in the World Cup so far on the back of the Tottenham man’s heroics against Serbia.

Richarlison led the line for the Selecao last Thursday, with Neymar playing in behind him as a number ten, and Raphinha and Vinicius Junior on either flank.

Despite the attacking quality that Brazil had on the pitch, they failed to create too many chances in the first half, with the Spurs star struggling to get into the game.

However, Richarlison showed his killer instinct at the start of the second half by burying both opportunities that came his way and leading his country to a 2-0 win.

The 25-year-old’s second goal, which came courtesy of a perfectly executed overhead kick, has been shown countless times around the world and is undoubtedly the best goal we have seen in Qatar so far.

That is perhaps why Xavi had no hesitation in picking Richarlison when asked to name the best finisher in the tournament.

Richarlison has a great chance of winning the Golden Boot as he is likely to start every game for Brazil. The 25-year-old will get chances, given the quality that Tite’s men have in their side and the Selecao are likely to go quite far in the tournament.
