Barcelona drop points ahead of Tottenham Champions League clash

Tottenham fans will still be hurting from their first taste of Champions League football this season, as Barcelona prepare for a visit to Wembley on matchday two.

Spurs led Inter Milan at the San Siro after an impressive 85 minutes, but let in two late goals, including a Mario Icardi wonder volley, to drop all three points.

This hurt all the more as it was Tottenham’s best performance in recent weeks, and arguably all season.

However, despite brushing past PSV 4-0, Spurs’ next opponents Barca have run into a few problems themselves.

The Spanish giants went 1-0 up to Girona this weekend, only to have a man sent off, after which they conceded two quick fire goals.

Gerard Pique rescued a point for Barcelona, but it will still be a worrying result for the Catalans ahead of their Tottenham clash.

The man to be sent off was Lenglet, who is likely to be chosen to replace Samuel Umtiti in the game at Wembley, after the Frenchman was sent off in the 4-0 drubbing of PSV on match day one.

Could Spurs repeat last season’s heroics and beat another top Spanish club at home?
