Barcelona losing hope as Tottenham open talks over 19-year-old winger

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing forward with talks to sign an exciting Bundesliga attacker, much to the consternation of Barcelona.

Many exciting left-wingers have been mooted as targets for Spurs over the last few weeks, including Antoine Semenyo, who is wanted by Tottenham, Man City and Liverpool.

Over the last week, several sources have claimed that Spurs are turning their attention to an exciting young RB Leipzig winger.

Tottenham have reportedly scouted Yan Diomande extensively this season, and it has been suggested that the Lilywhites could go head-to-head with Liverpool for the RB Leipzig man.

Tottenham open talks over a deal for Yan Diomande

A new report in Fichajes has now confirmed that Spurs and Liverpool are the two clubs that are leading the race for the 19-year-old.

In fact, it is asserted that both the North Londoners and the Merseyside club have already begun formal talks with Leipzig over a deal for Diomande.

It is revealed that Tottenham see the Ivory Coast international as a player who can provide attacking impetus to their side, and they value his ability to break the lines.

The Lilywhites intend to move quickly in the negotiations and to wrap up a deal for the youngster in the upcoming transfer window.

Barcelona losing hope on Diomande as Spurs advance

Fichajes say that Diomande also ranks high on Barcelona’s wishlist, but the Catalan side is now beginning to accept that the transfer may be out of their reach.

The growing interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool has made the La Liga side’s pursuit of the teenager extremely complicated.

While the Premier League duo are capable of matching Leipzig’s financial demands, Barca may struggle to do so due to their financial constraints.

In fact, some at Barca accept that signing Diomande will be ‘almost impossible’, with a move to England seen as the most realistic outcome for the winger.
