Barcelona have come up with a plan to beat other elite European clubs to Tottenham’s Cristian Romero in the summer.
There are plenty of unknowns for Spurs heading into the summer transfer window. The Lilywhites are still not out of relegation trouble yet, languishing just five points above the drop zone at the moment.

It has also emerged over recent days that there is a panic at Tottenham that both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven could demand to leave in the summer.
Not to mention the fact that Spurs are now hunting for a new manager – and could well find themselves in that same boat this summer if they go down the interim route.

Barcelona come up with a plan to win the race for Tottenham star Cristian Romero
The previously mentioned report revealed that Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are all circling over the Spurs captain.
This information has now been backed up by D Sports, who say that the Catalan club have come up with a plan to beat the two Spanish capital clubs to Romero’s signature.
The report claims that the club’s president, Joan Laporta, is keen on taking the World Cup winner to Camp Nou, but it will not be easy, given Barca’s financial situation.
As a result, the La Liga giants plan to offer a swap deal to Tottenham to considerably lower Romero’s price tag.
26-year-old Barca defender could be offered to Spurs
The report claims that Hansi Flick’s side intends to offer ‘high-profile footballers’ to the North London side to ‘unlock’ the deal for the Argentine.
The outlet names Barca centre-back Ronald Araujo as a potential option who could be offered to the Lilywhites as part of the Romero deal.
Finally, the publication asserts that the belief among the Blaugrana hierarchy is that the prospect of living in Catalonia and becoming a cornerstone of Barca’s prospect could ‘tip the scales in their favour’ in the transfer race for Romero.
