Barcelona star Pedri has been asked which English player he would want to play for Spain, and unsurprisingly, the youngster named Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane as the one he wishes could switch nationalities.
Harry Kane is undoubtedly the most prolific English striker of all time. There are literal records to prove it, with the 30-year-old overtaking Wayne Rooney as England’s all-time leading goalscorer earlier this year.
He has done it at club level too, having surpassed Jimmy Greaves’ long-standing record and taking the crown as Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer (GOAL).
Kane’s impressive 2022/23 campaign, in which he scored 32 goals (Transfermarkt), further proved just how remarkable the striker is given the fact his team’s struggles as a whole did not impact his own performances and attacking output.
It’s no surprise then that German giants Bayern Munich have been trying to sign Kane all summer with reports earlier today claiming Spurs have now agreed a fee with the Bundesliga giants (BBC).
Pedri wishes Kane would play for Spain
While Kane could end up trading white for red this summer, it’s a different kind of swap that Barcelona star Pedri wishes could happen.
Speaking to ESPN, the wonderkid was asked which English player he would want to be in the Spain team, and his answer will surprise no one.
“The English player who I’d like to be Spanish is Harry Kane, because he scores a lot of goals, and as well as goals, brings a lot of fluidity to the team.”

Spurs Web Opinion
Any team in the world would be lucky to have Harry Kane and it has been a pleasure to see him representing Tottenham and England over the years. It’s clear to see why any club, or player would want him lining up in their side.
