Bastoni’s agent spotted arriving for meeting with Inter Milan board amid Tottenham interest

Alessandro Bastoni’s agent has been seen arriving at Inter Milan’s headquarters to resolve his client’s future amid strong interest from Tottenham.

Bastoni has emerged as a target of priority for Spurs head coach Antonio Conte, who is keen to add a new left-footed centre-back to his squad this summer (The Times).

The club has reportedly opened talks with Inter to sign the 23-year-old Italy international with Conte and managing director Fabio Paratici thought to be keen to complete the majority of their transfer business ahead of pre-season (Dharmesh Sheth).

Bastoni has since offered his position in spite of the rumours, insisting he is ‘relaxed’ about his future and is currently planning on returning to pre-season training with Inter later this summer (Rai Sport via Sempre Inter).

But, according to Fabrizio Romano, his agent Tullio Tinti has now been spotted heading to the Nerazzurri’s headquarters to hold discussions with the club’s board while waiting to see if Tottenham submit an official bid.

Bastoni worked with Conte at Inter during their Serie A-winning campaign in 2020-21, featuring prominently under the Italian coach.

He made 41 appearances under the 52-year-old and was a part of last year’s Italy squad which triumphed at the delayed Euro 2020 (Transfermarkt).

This is an interesting development as it could show that something is happening or about to happen in terms of a potential move in the near future.

But it could also mean that the parties resolve the situation by confirming Bastoni will be an Inter player, which could deal a big blow to Tottenham’s transfer hopes.
