Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund has spoken out on Harry Kane’s future, with the English striker being linked with a return to Tottenham as well as a potential move to Manchester United.
Earlier this week, Harry Kane ended his long wait for silverware after Bayern Munich were crowned champions of Germany following Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-2 draw against fourth-placed Freiburg.
The former Tottenham man now joins a long list of 62 ex-Spurs players who have left north London only to lift silverware elsewhere.
Tottenham fans were quick to congratulate Harry Kane following his long-awaited success, while several of his former teammates at Spurs also sent heartfelt messages to the England captain.

Bayern Munich director addresses Tottenham links with Harry Kane
With a trophy now in the cabinet, many have turned their attention to what lies ahead for the England captain.
Harry Kane has a £54 million release clause in his current Bayern Munich contract, which is set to become active in the summer of 2026.
Kane has been linked with a return to Tottenham, while Manchester United are also reportedly monitoring the England captain’s situation.
However, Bayern Munich’s sporting director Christoph Freund has now addressed Kane’s future amid mounting speculation over a possible move away from the Allianz Arena.
Freund has made it clear that he is not at all concerned about the 31-year-old’s situation, despite reports surrounding the clause in his contract.
Speaking to Abendzeitung, Freund said: “That is not an issue. Harry is generally very well respected in the team. He gets along well with everyone. He is in the prime of his life and has acclimatised himself superbly in Munich. Even the departure of his friend Eric Dier in the summer does not directly affect Harry.”
Kane’s happiness at Bayern and the reality for Spurs fans
Every Spurs fan would love to see their record goalscorer back in N17, however, at present, that feels highly unlikely.
Of course, Kane’s long wait for a major trophy has finally ended, but the forward will surely be aiming to add more silverware to his collection in the coming years.
Bayern Munich remain a far more stable club than Tottenham Hotspur, which means Kane is likely to keep competing at the very top level season after season.
Kane himself has addressed his future earlier this year, making it clear that he is content with life in Germany. He said: “What I can say is that I am very happy at FC Bayern. No comment on the clause.”
