Bayern Munich director denies conversations with Harry Kane’s entourage

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has claimed that he has not spoken to Harry Kane’s camp regarding a potential move to the Allianz Arena.

There have been plenty of reports from Germany over the last few months crediting Bayern with an interest in Kane.

Bild (27/07/22 via Sport Witness) claimed back in July that Bayern had spoken to the England captain’s entourage over a transfer in the summer of 2023, and let the striker know of their interest.

Christian Falk was the latest journalist to report on the Bundesliga giants’ interest in the Tottenham man, with the journalist suggesting last week that Julian Nagelsmann’s side are hopeful Kane will not sign a new contract with Spurs so they can make a move for him next summer.

However, Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside last Wednesday that despite Bayern’s desire to sign the 29-year-old, the North London club are ‘relaxed’ about the player’s future.

Salihamidzic has now played down the German club’s interest in Kane, insisting that Bayern are happy with their options up front.

He told Sport 1 (as relayed by The Evening Standard): “I haven’t spoken to anyone at Harry Kane’s camp. We have faith in our players. Serge [Gnabry], Sadio [Mane], [Eric Maxim] Choupu-Moting and also [Mathys] Tel.

“These are guys who should grow into it. We have eight players for four positions. In the end, you have to see what the market has to offer and we didn’t find anyone is better than what was already in our squad.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Bayern are not the only big club that would be interested in Kane next summer if the striker does not sign a new contract with Tottenham. However, I do not think the 29-year-old will consider leaving the Premier League.

If I was a betting man, I would put money on Kane signing a new contract. Man City and Liverpool would be the only clubs in England who the striker would be willing to join and neither of those clubs are likely to be in for the England captain, having spent big on Haaland and Nunez respectively this summer.
