Bayern Munich player manages to get shirt of his Tottenham Hotspur footballing idol

Tottenham Hotspur managed to see off German champions Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup final last night, beating them 6-5 on penalties.

Spurs were 2-0 up in the second half after strikes from Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen, but Bayern managed to close the gap, partly down to the performance of Jann-Fiete Arp upfront.

The young Bayern striker claims that he models himself on England captain Harry Kane, after the Spurs man came through the ranks in North London (UEFA).

He said: “If there was just one player I had to pick as my role model, it’s Harry Kane. He plays the way I want to play. He’s pacy and very comfortable with and without the ball. It’s difficult to stop him. You need to pay attention for 90 minutes because he can score at any time.

“He went through all the youth teams in his club, became a first-team player in that club and was even the league’s top scorer, twice. Now, he’s an international. In the space of three years, Kane has made every step that you dream of as a young player.”

Luckily, Arp managed to come face-to-face with his footballing hero last night and even managed to secure a little souvenir to mark the occasion.

The Bayern striker was seen posing with Kane’s shirt at the end of the match after Spurs were crowned Audi Cup champions.

Arp has even made the trip to Wembley to watch Tottenham and Kane in the past, posting pictures on his Instagram.

Could he be persuaded to come and play as Kane’s back-up?
