Bayern Munich send classy message to Spurs on Twitter

Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich went head to head last night in the final of the Audi Cup, with the Champions League finalists coming out on top.

It looked as if it would be a fairly routine win for Spurs at one point, with Erik Lamela opening the scoring with a tap in put on a plate by Georges-Kevin Nkoudou.

Spurs then knocked on the door repeatedly for a second, with Heung Min Son coming particularly close during a one-on-one in the second 45.

Christian Eriksen then doubled Tottenham’s lead with a classy finish in the bottom corner, which looked to all but seal the trophy for Spurs.

However, Bayern subbed on their big dogs such as Lewandowski, Sanchez, and Thiago and eventually levelled the scores at 2-2.

In fact, Spurs were really hanging on towards the end of the match, with a number of academy youngsters on at that point.

Luckily, the Lilywhites earned a penalty shootout and edged out their German counterparts, lifting the trophy under the lights.

Bayern proceeded to send a classy message on Twitter, wishing Spurs luck for the season.
