Bayern Munich send confident message to Spurs after Champions League draw

Tottenham Hotspur fans should be largely happy with their Champions League group this year, especially when comparing it to the last couple of seasons.

Tottenham had the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and more in their group over the past couple of seasons.

However, this time around the Lilywhites were draw against Bayern Munich, Olympiacos, and Red Star Belgrade.

Spurs would surely to qualify in at least second spot from this group, but then again, anything can happen in the Champions League.

At the very least, Tottenham should come into the competition with hunger, determination, and confidence after coming so close to the trophy last time out.

However, it doesn’t seem as though the Champions League finalists have struck much fear into Bayern Munich after the draw, with the club’s sporting director seeming pretty chuffed with the group.

Hasan Salihamidžić claimed that the group was not to be taken for granted, but they could live with it.

He said (Football London): “We can definitely live with that group.

“Our expectation is to qualify for the knockout stages as group winners, but we would be well-advised not to underestimate any team.

“Especially in Piraeus and in Belgrade we will not only come up against highly-motivated opposition, but also a very passionate home crowd.”

Interestingly Salihamidžić  decided to stop shop of mentioningthe visit to the new Spurs stadium.
