Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has described Harry Kane as ‘one of the best players in the world’.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga giants on more than one occasion over the past few months, partly due to comments from within the Bayern camp.
In July, Bayern’s CEO Oliver Kahn has labelled a move for Kane as ‘dream’ (Sport Bild) and his comments were followed up by manager Julian Naglesmann later in the month who refused to rule out a move for the England international (talkSPORT).
Bayern have been left without a traditional number nine after Robert Lewandowski made the move to Barcelona in the summer.
Salihamidzic spoke after the German outfit’s 2-0 away victory at Hoffenheim on Saturday and while praising Kane, he refused to be drawn further and insisted there are no plans for the Bavarians to dip into the transfer market in January.
Kane is set to be out of contract in north London in the summer of 2024.
Salihamidzic told Bild TV (22/10/22 – 17:15 BST) when asked about Kane: “He is one of the best players in the world.

“But we are not talking about players who are under contract with other clubs.”
He added: “We’ve done a lot this summer and I think we’re very well prepared for the whole season.
“We won’t be active on the transfer market in winter.”

While Antonio Conte’s future remains unresolved and Kane’s contract continues to tick down, speculation over what happens next is only going to grow louder.
Tottenham need to ensure in November that Conte’s future is sorted one way or another to provide stability and reassurance for his playing staff that he plans to be in north London for the long term.
