Tottenham Hotspur were not only beaten in the Champions League last night, but they were embarrassed and schooled by the German champions, Bayern Munich.
Spurs took the lead at the new White Hart Lane and looked mightily impressive for the first half an hour, but never recovered from a superb Kimmich equaliser.
They were 2-1 down before half-time, a scoreline that just kept ticking and ticking throughout the second 45, all the way up to 7-2.
To make matters worse, ex-Arsenal winger, Serge Gnabry, managed to grab four goals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
This makes two games without a win in this season’s Champions League for Spurs after a draw against Olympiacos on the opening night.
However, it will take a good while for the Lilywhites to live this one down, which is not helped by the stick they have received on social media.
Even the US Bayern Munich account got involved, poking fun at Tottenham’s NFL connection by claiming they had scored the first touchdown at the new stadium.
