Beckham won’t play against United

Harry Redknapp says David Beckham won’t face Man Utd even if he does join Tottenham.

A deal could eventually be reached later this week ahead of leaders United’s visit to White Hart Lane on Sunday.

“Manchester United this Sunday would be a non-starter even if he does sign,” said Redknapp in The Sun.

“He is not fit to play yet and he knows that. It’s going to take him a few weeks to get back to anywhere near the fitness levels he’s used to.”

Beckham has slotted into training easily with the Spurs squad and Redknapp is keen to have the player’s experience at his disposal.

He added: “You cannot beat experience and David has it in bucket loads.

“No matter how well you are playing, when you are going into the second half of the season and have Champions League football as well as the Premier League, it’s what you need.”

  1. If it will take weeks for Beckham to get fit, and he is to return to USA 10th February with Galaxy, WTF is all this Beckham crap about. We should be concentrating on getting top top quality players in to cement our top four position and to progress further in the Champs league.

Levy dont let Harry dick about with this type of signing, Phil Neville, !!!!!! please stop now.

  2. luiz suarez is a must with keane going. maybe another sneaky bid for samba to sure up an ageing and injury prone defence (ie king, woody and gallas). another left-back would be ideal but with bale able to slip in there then we're not that eager for one. we're ok for right backs with hutton, corluka, walker (although he's on loan) and kaboul.

  3. I don't see the point in this Beckham fiasco. We're built around fast, free-flowing football, and he'll just be a spanner in the works.

Sure he can pass the ball, but so can Bale, Lennon, Modric, and everyone else in our midfield.

Just seems like a waste of time to me.
