Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that David Beckham is to remain with the club for a further fortnight.
Beckham has been training with Spurs for three weeks so far in order to maintain his fitness levels in the MLS off-season.
The idea had been for Spurs to sign the former England captain on loan, but various complications prevented that deal being completed.
Beckham has been offering his presence and experience to Spurs in the meantime however, and will now remain with the club for a further two weeks.
A club statement said, “David Beckham has extended his training spell at the club until February 22.
“The England midfielder will now return to Los Angeles to report for pre-season training with LA Galaxy on February 24.”
Redknapp has also expressed his interest recently in bringing Beckham back to Spurs on a permanent basis once his contract expires in November.
