‘Been incredible’ – Kion Etete sends message to club after returning from loan

Kion Etete has sent a touching message thanking Cheltenham Town fans and the staff at the club after his season-long loan spell came to an end.

Etete has been one of the biggest success stories from the Tottenham academy this season, initially shining on loan at Northampton Town in the first half of the campaign.

Spurs then recalled the centre-forward in January and sent him on loan to Cheltenham, and the striker made the step up to League One effortlessly, finishing with six-goal contributions in 13 appearances (Transfermarkt).

Although Etete’s spell at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium was interrupted by injury, he has done well enough to reportedly attract interest from Championship clubs ahead of next season.

Football Insider reported last week that Queens Park Rangers wish to sign the Spurs academy product on loan this summer.

Etete has now taken to Instagram to thank everyone at Cheltenham for welcoming him and wished the League One club the best for the future.

He said: ‘Been an absolute pleasure to play here I’d like to thank all the fans, staff and players you’ve been incredible. Wishing you all the best for the future.’

Spurs Web Opinion

Both Etete and Parrott have demonstrated this season that they are more than ready to make a step up to the Championship next campaign. I expect Harvey White to also be loaned out to the second tier.

Spurs will probably want to be a little more patient with Dane Scarlet and Alfie Devine. I expect the pair to remain at the club and train with the first team next season.
