‘Before the end of the month we’ll have two new players’ – Says Jose Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur have been inactive in the transfer market so far this window, as Jose Mourinho waits for his first new signing as Spurs’ new head coach.

Mourinho has been able to work with three of Pochettino’s last signings in Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, and Ryan Sessegnon, although all three have struggled with injury problems at the club this season.

Jose is now also without both Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko until April as they both needed surgery after sustaining injuries against Southampton on New Years Day.

While Mourinho was tight-lipped about any potential transfer incomings this window, he did claim that he will have two new players by the end of the month.

However, the head coach was actually referring to Ben Davies and Hugo Lloris, with the former having only played once for Mourinho and the latter yet to appear. Lloris, the club captain, has been out for months after dislocating his elbow against Brighton.

Mourinho said (Alasdair Gold): “Good news is that before the end of the month we’ll have two new players, Lloris and Davies. Lloris never played for me, Ben played one and very, very well in a system we were trying to develop which was only possible to play with him because he can play inside.”
