Ben Davies names his dream six-a-side team with past Tottenham teammates

Ben Davies was given the unenviable task of picking a six-a-side team with the best players he has played with during his time at Tottenham.

Davies is now the longest-serving first-team player at Spurs, with the Welshman set to complete a decade at the club this summer following his move from Swansea City back in 2014.

While the defender has not always been a guaranteed starter, he has been a valuable squad player throughout that time, with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and now Ange Postecoglou all valuing him highly.

It is a testament to Davies’ tactical maturity that he has played in several different positions during that time, including as a left-back, left-sided centre-back and even as a wing-back.

Ben Davies’ dream Tottenham six-a-side team

In those ten years, the Wales international has played with several world-class players, which is why it was not an easy question for him to answer when he was asked to name a six-a-side team with the best of his past and present Spurs teammates on The Gabs and Jules Show.

While Davies had a relatively straightforward choice in goal in Hugo Lloris, he went for Jan Vertonghen in defence, Christian Eriksen in midfield and a front line of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale.

Most of Davies’ picks are no-brainers but the one notable absentee is Mousa Dembele, who is arguably the best short-sided player in the world, given his press resistance and his ability to breeze past players with ease.
