Ben Davies reveals whether Antonio Conte laid into Spurs squad after Wolves defeat

Ben Davies has revealed that Antonio Conte did not blast the Tottenham players for their performance in the defeat to Wolves.

Spurs were beaten 2-0 by the Midlands side which condemned them to a third Premier League loss in a row.

The display was a failure to address Wednesday night’s tepid display in the defeat to Southampton, which saw leads thrown away on two separate occasions.

Conte admitted that confidence is currently low at Spurs and seemingly questioned hinted that the players at his disposal may not yet possess a winning mentality like squads he has managed in the past (Evening Standard).

But the Italian did mention he was content with his side’s overall showing against Wolves, despite a poor opening 20 minutes that decided the overall result.

Asked whether Conte let his frustrations known in the dressing room after the game, Davies admitted that it wasn’t the case and a thorough reflection will be carried out to stop a downturn in form.

He said (via Football.London): “It hasn’t been anything like that. We’ll reflect on it properly, analyse it and work on the right stuff.

“Any time you’re not winning games you’re going to get questions and we have to deal with that. It’s important not to overreact.”

Conte’s actions on the touchline recently have shown just how frustrated and invested in the games he is, but grilling the players won’t solve everything. He is letting them know where things are going wrong though which is good, so it is up to them to solve the problems and bring about some improvements.
