Ben Foster thinks Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal would all love to sign PL striker

Ben Foster has said that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur would love to get their hands on Alexander Isak and insisted that Newcastle should demand a mammoth fee for the centre-forward.

Spurs saw first-hand the quality that Isak possesses in front of goal last weekend, with the striker’s brace on Saturday against the Lilywhites taking his goal tally to 21 strikes across all competitions so far this season.

It was reported by The Sun earlier this month that Newcastle might have to sell some of their players in order to comply with FFP regulations, with the Swede named as a potential candidate to be offloaded.

The publication revealed that Newcastle were bracing themselves for bids from both Spurs and Arsenal for the centre-forward, who they allegedly value at £100m.

The two North London clubs’ interest in Isak was subsequently backed up by Football Insider, who added that the Lilywhites have allocated a big portion of the summer budget to sign a top-class number nine.

Tottenham would love to sign Isak, says Foster

Foster believes that most of the Premier League’s top clubs, including Ange Postecoglou’s men, would love to get their hands on the 24-year-old.

He told The Fozcast: “If Isak played for my football club in the Premier League, watching him week-in-week-out do what he does, I would not sell him for less than £100 million.

“There aren’t that many out-and-out strikers that know how to put the ball in the back of the net, with his pace as well and I think he’s only getting better.

“I remember when they signed him as well and I remember thinking you’re a little bit slight, you’re a little bit too skinny. You look to me like you’re going to pick up injuries, like you’re going to get bullied a little bit.

“At first, I think he found it a little bit difficult. But the way he’s progressed over the last couple of seasons. He looks bigger, bulkier, stronger, faster, and reads the game better.

“I’m not selling him for less than £100 million. No chance on this earth. Man United would love to have a player like him, so would Arsenal, Liverpool. Teams that would be crying out for a player like Isak. Spurs would love an Isak as well.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Newcastle have plenty of sellable assets in their squad and I do not think they would consider offloading Isak. Eddie Howe has made it clear that the striker is a key part of his plans and I cannot see the Magpies selling the Swede to a Premier League rival.
