Former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster has issued a warning to Tottenham regarding the behaviour of Savio and Omar Marmoush in recent matches.
Tottenham Hotspur are certainly not in the best of form given their start to the 26/27 season in all competitions.
The Lilywhites are out of the Carabao Cup and are 17th in the Premier League table. This is not the sort of start anyone at the club would have envisioned after Spurs’ massive summer overhaul.
The players are yet to gel and will need some time, but if things do not turn around quickly, it could unravel in north London.
Ben Foster spots ‘ugly’ behaviour from Tottenham duo Savio and Omar Marmoush
Speaking on The Fozcast Podcast, former Premier League goalkeeper Ben Foster looks to have spotted “ugly” behaviour from two of Tottenham’s latest summer signings, Omar Marmoush and Savio.
The goalkeeper highlighted the attitude of the pair on the pitch, where they appear to throw their arms in the air in frustration when their teammates do not pass them the ball.
Foster believes this could cause dressing‑room issues if not handled swiftly.
He said: “If you are on that team and you have got Savio and Marmoush waving arms, going, oh why were not you… I am better than you. Why have not you played me in there? Why you not done that? Mate, people very quickly go you k****. I am not having you.”
When asked whether the more experienced players will ask Marmoush and Savio to cut the behaviour out, he added: “It depends how many bad eggs you have. If you have a lot of bad eggs, if you have got four, five, six, seven, eight bad eggs, yeah. They all sit together in their own little corners and have little cliques and mate, the form and the divide that goes on in the dressing room.”
Pushed further on whether their behaviour really makes them a bad egg, he continued: “Mate, if someone is throwing their arms around, I am getting in at half‑time and I am calling them out for it straight away, and if it festers and it carries on, mate, it becomes a massive problem.”
Spurs must focus on improving performances, not frustrations
When results do not go your way in football, which is happening at Tottenham, it is only normal for frustration to kick in.
However, based on performances on the pitch, Savio and Marmoush are probably the last ones who should be full of themselves, as they have not been the best players at the club so far this season.
