The Everton clash saw a surprising visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by a Benfica star and his agent amid Spurs’ summer transfer rebuild.

Tottenham Hotspur’s final clash against Everton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on May 24 was indeed one of the biggest games to have taken place at the ground in recent years.

For the neutrals, it was a finely poised contest, with Tottenham looking to avoid defeat, as a loss could have sent them down to the Championship.

Meanwhile, for Spurs fans, it was a nervous outing, with relegation on the line for the first time in 50 years.

But the game did not disappoint, as Spurs secured a narrow but crucial 1-0 win over the Toffees to preserve their Premier League status.

Tottenham spot Heorhiy Sudakov at Everton clash

There were certainly some notable guests in the stadium on Sunday. Cristian Romero, who had received backlash after travelling to Argentina before the club’s biggest game of the season, was present alongside several other injured stars.

The Spurs hierarchy was also in attendance as they watched their side secure survival.

Reports from A Bola have now revealed that Benfica creative midfielder Heorhiy Sudakov was present at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch the clash between Spurs and Everton.

Interestingly, the midfielder was not alone, with his agent by his side as the pair watched the game unfold.

Sudakov ended this season with four goals and four assists in 36 matches for Benfica across all competitions.

His presence and that of his agent have now sparked speculation, given that the Spurs have lacked creativity in midfield following injuries to several key players.

Why Heorhiy Sudakov might have been present at the Spurs game

Aside from his appearance on Sunday afternoon, Tottenham have not been strongly linked with the Benfica man in recent years.

However, other English clubs have been, with Bournemouth and Arsenal both previously credited with interest in Sudakov.

Whether his presence at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sparks genuine interest remains to be seen as Spurs embark on a squad rebuild.

Still, A Bola stated that Sudakov used his holiday before Ukraine’s June friendlies to travel to London, which could explain his presence in north London.

The Benfica man, though, did not just watch on; he also shared a video showing the connection between Tottenham’s players and supporters following their survival.

There is also the possibility he attended to watch Vitaliy Mykolenko, with the Everton defender an international teammate of Sudakov and involved in the match.
