Berbatov sings Harry Kane’s praises with Lewandowski and De Bruyne comparisons

Dimitar Berbatov has admitted he loves watching Harry Kane play for Tottenham but believes he could slot into any big club in the world.

Kane’s form has skyrocketed under the guidance of Antonio Conte, recording 11 goals and seven assists in that time (Transfermarkt) while also helping to lift Spurs into the Premier League top four.

The 28-year-old has managed to tally at least one goal contribution in each of his last seven games, with Spurs winning six of them over that span.

Much of his play has come down to the strong connection with Heung-min Son but also January arrival Dejan Kulusevski, who both netted in Tottenham’s 4-0 demolition of Aston Villa on Saturday.

And Kane, despite not scoring in the encounter at Villa Park, has continued to earn the plaudits of former Spurs man Berbatov, who believes he is on a level par with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as the ‘best in his position’.

The Bulgarian also admitted he could ply his trade for any team in the world, but hopes he remains in England’s top-flight going forward.

He told The Athletic: “In the case of Kane, he is probably the best in his position so far.

“Him and Robert Lewandowski. I love watching them — especially Kane, going deep, making the runs, and providing a finishing ball like Kevin de Bruyne. It’s unbelievable.

“I think he’s going to fit in every big club around the world, just the way he plays football, the way he controls the ball, the way he turns with the ball.

“Nothing is panicked, everything is calculated. You can smell the football is there just from watching it.

“He will have no problem going to a place and playing. I would like him to play in England for sure.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Kane has got back to the level he previously was at Spurs since Conte came into the club and is powering the side to a strong end to the season.

Spurs will likely have to fend off interested parties again this summer, but they won’t have any objection to doing that considering how important he is to the club.
