Tottenham Hotspur had the chance to go three points clear of Liverpool in the Premier League table last night but failed to capitalise on key opportunities in front of goal.
The Reds went 1-0 up in the first half courtesy of a deflected Mo Salah effort that looped painfully over Hugo Lloris.
Liverpool went on to completely dominate possession and pressure before Spurs broke and scored through Heung-min Son against the run of play.
Following the goal, normal order resumed and Liverpool went into the break scratching their heads as to how they were not ahead.
In the second half, Spurs opened up and changed formation, creating three golden chances for Steven Bergwijn and Harry Kane, although every one was missed.
Despite it looking as if the game was inching towards a 1-1 draw, Liverpool scored in the final minutes through a Roberto Firmino header. Some Spurs fans took to Twitter to react to the late result.
Bergwijn cost us that game

Dude we were in first place for like 3 weeks and we lost for Liverpool who are the best team in the prem and you are really bashing our team? Think again, we had a good performance but no team has a great possession against Liverpool, start being a true fan hbt

Davies should never start ahead of Reguilon. Where was Ndombele? One the best players this season didn't get 1 min in the biggest game of the season.

What load of crap. The only difference between us and them is that they were clinical in heading the goal to the net. If stevie and Kane would’ve capitalised on their chances, it would’ve been a different story.

Why sub off Sonny?! We know what happens time and time again when Son is replaced. #COYS #THFC #LIVTOT pic.twitter.com/oz9IC4Ls06

The problem is that liverpool may never lose or draw ?? so we won't win the league

No, we gave this game up by defending so much, the soaking up pressure style cost us tonight, and will do many more times this season. We’re wasting our amazing forward players.
