Tottenham Hotspur have finally confirmed the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
Hojbjerg becomes Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho’s first high-profile senior signing of the summer ahead of the 20120/21 season.
This will represent Mourinho’s first full campaign in charge of the Lilywhites and the Special One cleary felt as if extra defensive midfield solidity was needed.
Hojbjerg leaves St Mary’s after racking up an impressive 134 appearances in four seasons, never playing less than 28 games per year (Wikipedia).
The Denmark international has played 33 times for his country, while also bringing experience from Bayern Munich under the likes of Pep Guardiola to North London.
Some Spurs fans have immediately taken to social media to react to the Hojbjerg signing, with the vast majority pleased to see Daniel Levy conducting early business in the window.

Few will rave about this signing at the moment, which is exactly what happened with Wanyama from Southampton under Pochettino. However, give it 12-months and I believe that people will look back on this as one of the bargains of 2020.
