Some Tottenham fans on social media have lavished praise on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after the midfielder scored a goal and set up another in Denmark’s 4-0 win over Austria on Wednesday.
It has been an extremely positive couple of weeks for most of the Tottenham players on international duty, not least Hojbjerg, with Denmark winning all three of their World Cup Qualifiers.
The midfielder played in the Dane’s 2-0 win over Israel last week and was subsequently rested for their clash against Moldova over the weekend, which Kasper Hjulmand’s side won 8-0.
Hojbjerg returned to the starting eleven for their trip to Austria, which looked like a tough game on paper.
However, the Scandinavians were extremely dominant at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna, with all four of their goals coming in the second half.
The Tottenham man played a lovely through ball to Joakim Maehle for the away side’s third before getting on the scoresheet himself to put the icing on the cake for Denmark.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to Hojbjerg getting on the scoresheet:

Completely changed us. One of our best signings at £3m, and been the best DM in the league this season on the whole.
But he needs to rest, I can’t remember more than 4 games he’s fucking missed this year? https://t.co/RlggOvvFAI

Spurs Web Opinion
Hojbjerg’s form has dipped a little over the last month or so but the results over the international break should do the midfielder’s confidence a world of good. It is a plus for Spurs that he was rested against Moldova. So the midfielder should have plenty in the tank for Sunday’s trip to St James’ Park.
