‘Better and better’ – Nuno asked whether Kane will be involved vs Wolves

Nuno Espirito Santo refused to give a definitive answer on whether Harry Kane will be fit enough to face Wolves this weekend when asked in a press conference.

These comments came ahead of Tottenham’s first leg qualifying match against Pacos de Ferreira in the Conference League.

It was initially thought that Kane could make the trip and play a part against the Portuguese side after he made the squad list, however, he did not end up making the plane today.

The Athletic reported that Kane had remained behind in North London and would instead continue to train, build his fitness, and hopefully be involved against Wolves.

Nuno confirmed that Kane is improving with each passing day and will rejoin the main group on Friday when they return from Portugal. However, it remains to be seen whether the England captain turns out against Nuno’s former team.

On whether Kane could play on Sunday, Nuno said (Football London): “I cannot answer this. I can answer that he’s getting better and better, fitter and he will join the group on Friday. Then we’ll see.”

He added: “He’s better than yesterday and hopefully he’s going to be better tomorrow. That’s how all the players working should be. Improving and working on fitness.

“We speak to all the players on a daily basis. It’s normal that we speak to them all.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

It really feels as if something is brewing behind the scenes this week. I expected Kane to make the flight to send a message if nothing else. If he isn’t even in the squad for the Wolves game, I would prepare for the worst.
