‘Better every game’ – National media rave about future Spurs star

Lucas Bergvall has started the Swedish season in style, and reports from Scandinavia are hailing the youngster for the way he has matured of late, and claim he is developing into a ‘truly unique talent’ as weeks go by.

Tottenham ended the January transfer window in style, by usurping Barcelona and securing the signing of Swedish wonderkid, Lucas Bergvall. It is thought the deal cost around £8.6m (Football.London), with the 18-year-old due to officially arrive in North London this summer.

Apparently, Bergvall will play a prominent role in Ange Postecoglou‘s squad next season, despite his young age and inexperience at the top level (Football Insider).

In the meantime, Bergvall has just kicked off the Swedish Allsvenskan league with his current club Djurgarden, and already has two goals and four assists in his first four games (Transfermarkt).

Lucas Bergvall is in great form

That early season form has caught the eye of Sportbladet (via Sport Witness), who suggest the youngster is now flourishing for the Swedish side, and is getting better and better all the time.

The report insists it may be “easy to get caught up” in the hype, but there is no denying Bergvall is displaying “courage, resilience, and timing” when it comes to attacking play. It is also said his physical frame now makes him an “unpleasant opponent” for those facing him.

While some questioned whether Bergvall would play regularly enough for Djurgarden this season, the report describes those doubts as “completely moronic and laughable” in light of his performances so far.

The praise doesn’t stop there, though. The report explains how Bergvall appears to have “peeled away that puppiness” and overzealous approach from last year, and has now matured into a “truly unique talent” who is getting “5-10% better every game he plays.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It has been so exciting to see Bergvall storming it in the Swedish league so far this season, and I cannot wait to see what he can do for us next year. I think he’s ready to mix it up in the Premier League already.
