‘Big race’ – Journalist claims Spurs are set to submit a £51.4m offer for Raphinha

According to SportItalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, Tottenham Hotspur are set to submit an offer worth €60m (£51.4m) including add-ons for Leeds winger Raphinha.

The Athletic revealed on Tuesday that Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona are all interested in Raphinha.

The report claimed that Arsenal had launched an offer for the winger but Leeds are expected to reject the bid out of hand.

It was further explained that the Leeds star would prefer to join Barcelona or Chelsea over both the North London clubs but the Catalan giants’ pursuit of the player is complicated by their financial problems.

Longari has now taken to social media to reveal that Spurs are set to follow Arsenal in launching an offer for Raphinha.

The journalist claimed that Antonio Conte’s men are ready to bid €50m (£42.9m) plus €10m (£8.5m) in add-ons for the Brazilian.

Longari added that Raphinha has not made a decision on which club he wants to join this summer.

The same journalist reported this morning that Raphinha’s agent was in Barcelona this week and there is a big race for his signature, which could be impacted by Barca’s financial situation or Chelsea’s former sanctions.

I think Kulusevski has the attributes to feature as a centre-forward if needed and so the Swede could be sufficient cover to Kane. So, I think a move for Raphinha would make sense for Spurs.

However, given the way Fabio Paratici operates, it is possible that any offer for the Leeds winger is designed to put pressure on Everton to lower their asking price for Richarlison.
