Big reported Tottenham target rules out summer move

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with many players already ahead of the summer transfer window, but few have cropped up as much as Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace (Sun).

The young fullback has enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season with the Eagles, earning his spot as their first choice right back.

Wan-Bissaka has been at the club since he was just 11-years-old and is currently on a contract until 2022.

Tottenham have struggled in the right-back area this season, with inconsistent and defensively naive performance from both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier.

Many reports have linked Tottenham with offloading one of their current first team full backs in order to finance and make room for a move for Wan-Bissaka (Sun).

However, the 21-year-old has now ruled out a move to Spurs this summer, or any other club for that matter, as he claims he will still be at Palace come next season (Standard).

Spurs may still test the club’s resolve with a bid once the transfer window opens, but a move no longer looks likely.

Wan-Bissaka said (Standard): “The situation just shows that my performances don’t go unnoticed.

“But I am with Crystal Palace at the moment. That is where my contract is and that is where I will be next season.

“I have got three years left on my contract. It says I am going to be there, so that is all I can focus on now.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Wan-Bissaka cannot be purchased this season, Spurs would be foolish to wait around for his mind to change. They should move for Norwich’s Max Aarons as another young right back who impressed last season. Spurs undoubtedly need a boost in that right-sided full back position, and that will only come by investing in an exciting up-and-coming youngster.
