The pressure is now mounting on Postecoglou

The calls for Postecoglou to leave Spurs are increasing by the day and an increasing number of media figures are expressing doubts over whether his methods can succeed in the Premier League.

The latest such update came from Jamie Carragher who told Sky Sports on Sunday that the Australian will not be employed by Tottenham for long if he does not adapt his tactics based on the opposition and match situation.

Meanwhile, many Spurs fans are also starting to lose faith that the 59-year-old would be able to turn the Lilywhites into a consistent outfit.

Update on Spurs’ talks with Ange Postecoglou

The Telegraph have now revealed that although recent results have not gone down well at Tottenham, they are still planning with him ahead of the January transfer window.

The outlet reveals that the Tottenham head coach has already held transfer meetings with Johan Lange and the club’s recruitment department about January signings, with the club considering making ‘significant reinforcements’.

If Spurs are planning on backing Postecoglou with the signings he wants in January, that perhaps indicates that the club continue to see this as a long-term project.

Ange Postecoglou admits he needs help from Spurs board

Following the loss against Chelsea, Postecoglou was open about the fact that the squad is not big enough to compete consistently.

The Australian directly admitted that he needs the squad to be bulked up when the transfer window reopens.

He told Sky Sports: “We’re thin on numbers and if we’re thin in January, we’ll be looking to add to the squad because they need some help.”
