Bio: Who is Mikey Moore? All you need to know about Tottenham’s teenage sensation

Tottenham Hotspur have a new golden generation of youngsters coming through right now, and Mikey Moore might just be the most exciting of them all. Here’s what you need to know about the teenage sensation.

Operating as a left winger primarily, with the flexibility to play in the number 10 role or upfront, Mikey Moore is one of the most highly-rated young talents in the English game right now.

At the age of 16, he became the youngest player to ever feature for the Tottenham first-team, after making his debut against Manchester City at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

And, he’s proving to be a real star for England, too, after a number of standout performances at the Under-17 European Championships. So, it’s time to learn more about this prodigal talent.

How long has Mikey Moore been at Spurs?

Moore joined Spurs at Under-9 level, in 2016.

He has developed through the youth system at Tottenham ever since signing, and has now gone all the way to the first-team for his boyhood club.

When did he sign his first pro contract?

On August 11, 2024, Moore signed his first professional contract with Tottenham which was said to be a three-year deal.

Across the various age groups at Spurs (from Under-18 upwards), Moore has made 33 appearances and scored 19 goals.

Breaking that down, he has 19 goals and 13 assists in 24 games for the Under-18s (Transfermarkt). He’s also made five appearances for the Under-19s, and two appearances for the Under-21s, becoming one of the youngest players to represent Spurs at that level at the age of just 15.

He was also part of the double-winning Spurs academy side that won the Under-17 Cup and the Under-18 Cup in 2023.

Moore is also the youngest-ever debutant for Tottenham’s first-team after being introduced in the final moments of the Premier League defeat to Manchester City on May 14, 2024 at the age of 16 years and 277 days. He played again as a late substitute in the win over Sheffield United on the final day of the season.

In January 2024, Moore found himself in Tottenham’s record books by becoming the youngest English goalscorer in major European competition history. At 17 years and 172 days, his goal in Tottenham’s 3-0 win against Elfsborg broke the record set by none other than the legendary Jimmy Greaves all the way back in 1957.

Mikey Moore’s international career

Put simply, Mikey Moore is on fire for England right now, with a brilliant goalscoring record for the Under-17s.

Overall, Moore has 30 caps across different age groups for England, with 18 goals to his name (Transfermarkt).

Breaking that down, Moore made his debut for the Under-15s in April 2022 in a friendly against Chile. He won four caps in that age group and scored one goal.

He made his debut for the Under-16s in August of that year against Italy, and went on to win 15 caps, scoring seven goals and registering two assists.

Now part of the Under-17 side, Moore has represented the Three Lions 11 times at this level, scoring ten goals and adding three assists. He is currently playing in the Under-17 European Championships, where he has played a starring role for England in the group stages.
