Birmingham City are expected to make a move to sign Alan Hutton in January.
The Daily Star believes that Alex McLeish will use some of Carson Yeung’s money to bring Hutton to St Andrews for about £3m.
McLeish has worked with Hutton at both Rangers and Scotland and is a big fan of the Tottenham right-back.
With the only option in that position being Stephen Carr, who has already retired once from football, Birmingham are thought to be looking for younger alternatives.
Hutton was signed for £9m in January 2008, but has only started one league match this season.
Sunderland, Everton and Hull are also believed to be interested in buying the Scotland international.
