‘Bit of a run now’ – Mark Lawrenson predicts Leicester vs Tottenham score

Mark Lawrenson believes that Tottenham Hotspur could now go on a good run of results, given that their confidence seems to have returned.

There was plenty of doom and gloom surrounding Spurs a few weeks ago following back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Manchester City (at the Etihad). Some reports even indicated at the time that Antonio Conte’s future at the club was ‘increasingly uncertain’ (Daily Mail).

However, the feeling around the club has since completely changed, with some exciting new faces arriving through the door in January and with the Lilywhites now having won three consecutive matches against Fulham, Preston North End and Manchester City.

Tottenham now sit just one point off Newcastle United in fourth place and have a chance to overtake the Magpies with a win at Leicester before Eddie Howe’s men travel to the Vitality Stadium.

Lawrenson has backed Spurs to take advantage of their momentum and come away with a comfortable victory from the King Power Stadium.

The pundit told Paddy Power: “Tottenham won against Manchester City without Antonio Conte on the touchline. How often does that happen? Leicester also won and I was impressed with their new signing Tete on the left, he looked good on debut.

“You know what Tottenham are like, they’ll go on a little bit of a run now because they’re high in confidence again and Harry Kane’s broken the record so he doesn’t have to worry about that. I’ll go for an away win.”

Prediction: Leicester 0-2 Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion

While I am relatively confident going into the game, my one worry is about how we will cope defensively with Davinson Sanchez at right centre-back instead of Cristian Romero.

We might have to score two or three to win tomorrow as I am not confident about our ability to keep another clean sheet.
