Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their reaction to Antonio Conte’s team selection for this evening’s match against Chelsea.
The Italian has the opportunity to get one over his former employer in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, having recorded an impressive start to life in North London since succeeding Nuno Espirito Santo.
Tottenham have never won away against Chelsea in the League Cup, drawing one and losing three of their visits to Stamford Bridge in the competition.
Chelsea come into the tie on the back of a 2-2 draw against Liverpool, while Spurs left it late to beat Watford courtesy of a Davinson Sanchez header in injury time.
There are starts for Matt Doherty and Japhet Tanganga who come in for Eric Dier and Sergio Reguilon.
This is what some fans have had to say about the side which takes to the field at Stamford Bridge in under an hour’s time:
It makes no sense…
Why play Doherty out of position rather than Sesegnon or Davies LB and another Midfielder like Ndombele or Lo Celso…
To dare is to do.

All eyes on Doherty and Pierre cause imo swap those 2 with winks and Reggy and that's the best team we can put out. They are without the 2 players who prevented them from losing all 3 points when we faced them in the league. Kante and Silva. Play for the badge and win💙💙COYS

1 – 1 tonight and then we bang them 3-1 @ WHL next week! 😏 #COYS #CarabaoCup

Crikey. A reminder of the brilliant job Conte has done so far. Additions essential. Spurs future looks bleak for Rodon given Conte said he’s Dier’s direct replacement. #THFC https://t.co/fEbNAiey4T
