Tottenham Hotspur have received some bad news regarding Andy Robertson following reports that the Lilywhites have held talks with the Liverpool star over a summer move to N17.
Robertson appeared all set for a move to Tottenham during the winter transfer window, but the deal fell through in the end, with Liverpool blocking the 31-year-old’s switch to Spurs.
The Lilywhites would not have to worry about dealing with the Reds this summer, as the left-back’s current deal at Anfield runs out in June.
It was reported by Fabrizio Romano last week that Robertson had already verbally agreed to join Spurs in the summer as long as the North Londoners avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Tottenham target Andy Robertson has held talks with Celtic
However, Sports Boom have now handed Spurs a blow by revealing that the experienced full-back has held talks over a return to Celtic.
Robertson came through the ranks at the Scottish club and his representatives have held discussions over a possible return to his boyhood club this summer.
It is revealed that Celtic are ready to offer the left-back a leadership role, as they attempt to rebuild their domestic dominance and re-establish themselves as a force in Europe next season.
What Roberto De Zerbi thinks about Spurs’ Robertson pursuit
While the Liverpool man was first identified as a target by Spurs when Thomas Frank was in charge, it has been claimed by TEAMtalk that Roberto De Zerbi has greenlighted the signing of Robertson this summer.
The Italian coach values the Scot’s experience at the highest level and believes that the defender would be a valuable addition to the Tottenham dressing room.
However, many Spurs fans are not overly pleased with the idea of landing Robertson on a free transfer.
