  1. Can see the logic of the attacking line-up but I don't think Harry will go that light in midfield. I think Lennon will play – Harry needs to play him in the hope that something clicks and he comes back to form. Here's my prediction assuming the centre back crisis is as bad as it seems:

    Cudicini
    Corluka, Huddlestone, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto,
    Lennon, Jenas, Modric, Bale,
    Van der Vaart,
    Crouch

If we do have two fit centre backs I can see Bale dropping to left back in place of Benoit, Modric to left mid and Hud alongside Jenas in the middle of the park.

  2. Wow. I am a bit surprised that people want to persue with Dos Santos. The 2 games he started, we lost, and was poor. The other 3 sub appearances, we lost 2, drew one. Basically no impact in 5 games. If Gio is to play, please not on the wing – he plainly cannot play there. This is in theory our least difficult game in the CL. We must not waste the opportunity. We must attack from the off.

  3. ———–Cudicini————–

    ———————————

    Corluka-King-Bassong-Assou-Ekotto

    ———-Huddlestone————

    ————Modric—————

    Lennon——–VDV————Bale

    ———————————

    ————-Crouch————–

  4. Due to our defensive crisis we need to put Palacios just in front of the defenders. Also Lennon is not on form at the moment so we need someone with the skill like Modric or Kranjcar on the wings. 4-5-1 does never seem to work so go back to 4-4-2.

    Cudicini

    Hutton Corluka Bassong Assou-Ekotto

    Palacios

    Modric Bale

    Van Der Vaart

    Crouch Keane

Subs: Pletikosa, Huddlestone, Lennon, Jenas, Pav, Naughton, Giovani,

  5. Lets get one thing straight Lennon his not out of form he his still carrying his Hernia and groin injury and his movement and form have dipped because he his avoiding contact. Running in a straight line is okay but any sudden twist and turning plus a bad tackle or block and he looks in pain you cannot rest a weakness and hope it goes 100 percent normal it wont and Lennon his and will be only playing with 70 percent of his former outstanding for . His other dip in form was after his knee operations and when they where 100 percent he showed why he was fast becoming a world class winger and one of the most fouls that has caused this young lads injury's . My Team is Gomes if fit Hutton Kaboul King Jenas Lennon Huddlestone Corluka Modric Bale Van d V Crouch. Yes Jenas left back with Bale would be interchangeable going forward Corluka can play in midfield and will help Hudds to tackle and allow him to go forward with his eye for a short pass behind defences Jenas can form a fast attacking role with Bale Like Hutton and Lennon this could work because this midfield is light when we are defending Lennon Huddlestone Van modric

  6. My team would be as follows as long as some of the players are fit:

    Gomes

    Corluka Kabul King Assou-Ekota

    Modric Huddlestone Jenas Van da-vart

    Lennon Crouch

I would play Lennon upfront as a striker purely for his pace and the fact that he can earn us penalties as he rushes into the box. I think we have to try something different until Defoe gets back and who knows, Lennon might be a revelation in that position. Think about how Arsenal were first using Henry out on the left and then they pushed him up front. The rest is history!

  7. ……….Cudicini……….

    …..Corluka….Bassong……

    Hutton……Hudd………Ekotto

    …….Modic…..VDV………

    Lennon………………Bale

    ………..Pav…………..

Hudd playing a sort of sweeper role with Ekotto and Hutton as wing backs.

  8. OK here is my choice after hearing a few back in training today

    Gomes

    Hutton Kaboul King BAE

    Lennon Hudd Jenas Bale

    VDV

Crouch/PAV (Not sure which better with VDV yet)

  9. Probably the most naive team selection I have ever seen. Are you seriously suggesting we go into a Champions League game with a player who has yet to deliver anything in a Tottenham shirt and who is totally out of his depth with a terrible attitude to boot in Dos Santos and a midfield who cannot tackle. You would also have Huddlestone at centre half against a proper team!? Frightening. Bearing in mind Ledley, Kaboul and Gomes are training the team should be: Gomes; Corluka, King, Kaboul, Bale; Palacios; Lennon, Huddleston, VDV, Modric; Crouch. Palacios sits in front of a back four who can all keep the ball (unlike Hutton). Bale gives width down the left and Lennon down the right. Hudd can spray passess around and Modric and VDV get up in support of Crouch with Pav to come off the bench. As for Dos Santos he has one of the worst attitudes of any Spurs player I have ever seen.

  10. We cant go over attacking otherwise we might get done on the break.

Gomes, Hutton, King, Kaboul, Bae, Kranjcar, Hudd, Modric, Bale, Vdv, Gio

I know Gios attitude has not been great but he hasn't played in his right position give him a go through the middle he can't be any worse than the others

  11. …………..Gomes…………..

    ……………………………

    Hutton..corluka..bassong..bennyAE

    ……………………………

    Lennon..Modric..Huddlestone..Bale

    ……………………………

    ……….Van Der Vaart……….

    ……………………………

    ………….Crouch…………..

VDV is our best player alongside bale this season they both need to play in as many games as possible to increase our chances. Lennon needs a game like this to rip apart a weaker defence and regain his game that we all know and love. Pav cant do up front on his own and crouch has scored 4 already this year in the champs league so you cant leave him out. Corluka for me is the only possible replacement for the CB position with his height and as i beleive hudd to be too vital to the midfield. Bale plays better as a left winger and we get more out of him end of.

  12. Positive news about Gomes and Ledley. Think it’s too soon to bring back Heurelho but I think if King is even half fit, he’ll play.

    So:

    Cudicini

    Hutton, King, Bassong, BAE

    Lennon, Huddlestone, Jenas, Modric

    van der Vaart

Crouch (scores for fun in Europe! Can’t not play him from the off)

  13. gomes – corluka, king, bassong – modric, hudd, vdv, palacios, bale – crouch, pav. 3-5-2 if king is not fit push hudd up there modric into the middle and lennon on the right

  14. Gomes
    Hutton king Bassong Bale
    Lennon Huddlestone VDV Modric
    Crouch Keane

dont believe why he keeps playing Jenas, we got where we are this season 4th spot and CL by not playing him he is not good enough for the team now a days time for him to move on me thinks…

    James
