‘Bottle Job FC’ – Mesut Ozil takes to twitter to try and mock Tottenham

Mesut Ozil has mocked Tottenham Hotspur after they set an unenviable Premier League record after throwing away yet another lead against West Ham.

For the first 25 minutes of the game on Thursday, everything appeared quite rosy for Spurs, with Cristian Romero scoring on his return from suspension and the home side dominating proceedings.

However, as the half went on and Ange Postecoglou’s men were failing to add to the lead despite dictating proceedings, some supporters understandably were getting nervous, given how the Lilywhites had thrown away leads recently.

Their fears were realised when West Ham took advantage of a couple of defensive lapses in the second half to emerge with a smash-and-grab win.

Mesut Ozil calls Spurs bottle jobs

According to OptaJoe, Spurs have become the first team in Premier League history to fail to win five consecutive games despite going 1-0 up in each match.

Ozil took to social media to react to Tottneham’s record, with the former Arsenal man terming them as ‘Bottle Job FC’.

Spurs Web Opinion

Former Arsenal players know that the one sure-fire way to maintain their popularity with the Gunners supporters is to have digs at Tottenham. So, this is not a surprise.

‘Bottle Job FC’ sounds like something an eight-year-old would Tweet out rather than an adult, let alone a former professional footballer.
