Mauricio Pochettino admitted last night that he had a desire to return to Tottenham again in the future, something that has made some Spurs fans rather emotional.
The Argentine was a fan favourite among the Tottenham faithful across five and a half years and his sacking back in November was met plenty of disappointment.
Daniel Levy and the Spurs board decided to part ways with the 48-year-old just a few months on from the club’s sensational run to the final of the Champions League.
By the looks of things, Pochettino still shares a lot of love for the club and the fan base. In an interview with BT Sport, the former Spurs boss relived the magical night in Amsterdam last season that helped Spurs book a ticket to Madrid.
He also asserted that he would like to return to the North London club one day in the next five or ten years in order to deliver a Premier League title.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to Pochettino’s admission:
This brought tears to my eyes. Football is such big business, that such emotion and commitment transcends even this. I live for the day he returns, and this is no smear or criticism of Jose at all.

The relationship between him and the fans is almost indescribable. He was so much more than just a manager to us. He embodies everything good about the club.

I always felt like this was the case. One day Poch will reunite with the club again and hopefully we’ll be in a position to properly back him.

Why oh why on earth did we get rid of Pochettino.
The man absolutely loves Spurs ?
I do think he’s had his time with us though, should have won something with us, we was?? that close.
If only he was backed after the title challenge & Champions League final seasons…#COYS

Never been a ‘Levy Out’ kinda guy, but…
If we got new owners…
…and they got Pochettino back…
…to get the fans immediate approval (like ENIC did with Hoddle)…
…then that’s a scenario I could definitely live with! ? #COYS #THFC

Poch is an absolute diamond. First thing he thought about was key workers during this pandemic.
I so hope we see him again managing our great club. superb human being.— SWSPURS (@swspurs) April 29, 2020
If you’re feeling down, just remember that one day, maybe not this year or next, but one day, Mauricio Pochettino will be announced as Tottenham Hotspur manager again.

Spurs Web Opinion
Literally from the day he left, I always had a gut feeling that he would one day return to the club and achieve success here. To hear Poch himself confirm that was great to hear. The outpouring of emotions from the fans shows that many never really got over his sacking.
