Sandro - Tottenham Hotspur news

Midfielder Sandro has signed a new five-year contract with Tottenham.

The Brazil international had been linked with Roma and Barcelona this summer but has confirmed that he sees his future at White Hart Lane by signing a new contract that will run until the summer of 2016.

Sandro was used sparingly by Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp after his arrival but became a fans’ favourite last term thanks to his tough tackling and tireless work rate.

The 22-year-old played a major role in the club’s Champions League last-16 victory over AC Milan and scored a spectacular goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

A knee injury suffered in the Copa America for Brazil this summer has kept him out of action this season and he is not expected to return for at least another month.

  1. Signed a 5 year deal? Awesome! We won’t have to worry about Chelsea tapping him up then, or him trying to leave in a few months for better wages. Or does he have a verbal agreement that Levy will let him out of the contract if he fancies a change…?

  3. Most Spurs fans want to see us playing our cavalier attacking style 'aka' Milan an Champs league in general..well players like Sandro & Parker ARE key to us not only playing this way but being rewarded I.e points on the board rather than 65/35 possession, being lovely on eye, sneaking a 3-3 and being 1st on MOTD. So glass half full for me this is gr8 news and lets face it the bigger force we become more likely we will retain our stellar players.. and yes that includes Modric once he realises he can realise his dreams at the Lane and get a few more quid in the process..if he delivers.
