The Tottenham winger was expected to return to action this month, and there was a very promising update regarding the player on Wednesday.

Tottenham star Mohammed Kudus suffers an injury setback

The Sun have revealed that the former West Ham star has now suffered a setback while stepping up his return from his hamstring injury.

Some sources suggest that he may even require surgery to fix the problem.

That means that the winger’s return is not expected for the foreseeable future, and the report says that there are even doubts over whether Kudus’ participation in this summer’s World Cup.

Meanwhile, Alasdair Gold provides more information on the injury, revealing that the new issue is also a quad-related one for the Tottenham star.

Why Roberto De Zerbi was keen to work with Kudus

We know that the new Tottenham boss is a fan of the winger, with reports revealing that De Zerbi tried to take Kudus to Brighton in the past.

The Italian would have fancied his chances of getting the best out of the former Ajax man and would have hoped for the winger to be one of his side’s main creative fulcrums.

This latest development thus comes as terrible news for De Zerbi, whose challenge of keeping Tottenham up just got a lot harder.
