Brennan Johnson delivers an injury update after he was forced off against West Ham

Speaking to the press after the 1-1 draw against West Ham tonight, Tottenham Hotspur winger Brennan Johnson explained the knock he took late in the second half, and confirmed he is feeling fine despite having an ice pack on his leg.

Brennan Johnson opened the scoring for Tottenham after just five minutes tonight, getting into a dangerous area to convert a Timo Werner cross.

Spurs once again fell to a set-piece, though, with West Ham levelling the score after 19 minutes when Kurt Zouma bundled the ball in from a corner.

From there, Ange Postecoglou‘s men dominated the game overall, with a lion’s share of possession and a handful of big chances, but were unable to get it over the line and take all three points.

Johnson had a big impact on the game once more, but was substituted off late on after receiving a knock on the leg while defending a corner.

Brennan Johnson is OK after West Ham game

In his post-match interview with TNT Sports (via George Sessions), Johnson was asked about the potential injury and why he was wearing an ice pack, but seemed unconcerned.

He said: “It’s all good, I think. Just a kick.”

Postecoglou was also asked about the situation by TNT Sports (via BBC), adding: “Yeah I think he’s alright. It was just a knock from a set-piece. I think everyone got through it pretty well considering it was two games in a short space of time.”

It was another top performance from Johnson, and hopefully that ice pack is just a precaution, as I think he has to start the next game.

He’s looking so hungry to win the ball high, to get into dangerous areas, and his attacking returns are proving valuable right now. He didn’t seem to be in too much discomfort, so I’m sure he’s fine.
