Brennan Johnson set for Crystal Palace medical as he nears £35m Tottenham exit

Brennan Johnson is close to sealing a move away from Tottenham Hotspur, and it appears his next destination has already been decided.

Brennan Johnson is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur in January, concluding a two and a half year spell in North London.

The 24-year-old has never really managed to establish himself as a regular starter at Spurs, even after scoring the all-important goal which saw them win the Europa League final.

Johnson has been linked with seven different clubs over the past few days, but it appears the player has already made up his mind on his future.

Johnson set to have a medical at Crystal Palace

According to the Telegraph, Johnson is due to have a medical at Crystal Palace over the next 24 hours in order to complete his move away from Spurs.

The Eagles are confident in getting the deal wrapped up quickly and anticipate Johnson being available to face Newcastle on Sunday.

As previously reported, Tottenham will receive £35m for the sale of their winger, who was the club’s top goalscorer last season.

Tottenham should be able to replace Brennan Johnson

While Johnson scored a decent number of goals, he was not a first-choice player for the most part under Ange Postecoglou, and he has not made any strides under Thomas Frank.

It should not be too difficult to find a replacement for the Welshman, and the most likely candidate will be someone who primarily plays as a left-sided winger.
